I miss French Coffee

The coffee in France was delicious. I bought some from a supermarket to bring home but it's just not the same as ordering it at a cafe in France. This photo was taken at one of our favorite cafes just off of Rue Cler near our hotel. Not much to this photo, just a candid shot so I could remember how good the coffee was.. it tastes even better than it looks.

My Orange Toothbrush

I got my orange toothbrush at Haight Street Dental. It is the best toothbrush I have owned! I had to take a picture of me using it. This is the first self-portrait I have taken in many years.

Technical details: I took this picture in my bathroom into a folding 3-point mirror. The sides of the mirrors were folded inward about 25 degrees. Then I converted the entire image to black and white and use some selective color saturation methods in photoshop to reveal some color (toothbrush, shirt, side "panels").

more from France - bullfighting

More from France... This image was taken in Arles, France- a very small town outside of Avignon. The main attraction of this town was the ancient colosseum structure located in the middle of town. On the day we visited, we were fortunate enough to find out that this coloesseum is still active. This photo was taken from a window of a small cafe that faced the large structure just after a bullfight had let out. The streets in Arles are not that big and when the fight got out they were instantly overflowing. It was quite a site to watch from the window as I sipped my coffee and pulled out my camera.
Though this image has some technical inadequacies, I still liked it and the mood it captured. I did a quick black and white conversion because I didn't feel the color version was as fitting. If you look at the white van towards the middle of the image you will see people flooding the front windows of the van trying to get an autograph from what I assume was one of the bullfighters.

night fun

Went to Chinatown last night with a buddy of mine to take some pictures. We brought out our tripods to try and get some creative night photography. This was taken after we walked down through Chinatown and found ourselves on Broadway. I ended up really liking this image the most from that night. At the moment it happened I was excited to see what would come out because a very large bus pulled up right next to me as the exposure was happening. This exposure was about 4-5 seconds on a tripod.

dj at work

This photo was taken a few weekends ago at Shine in San Francisco. This is an image of Brian's brother DJing at the small club/bar. I liked the way this image turned out. The movement blue of the hands and the differnt lights that balance the image from left to right. Photo was taken using a tripod with no flash.

scenic history

I really like this picture and how it reveals itself as a photo from San Francisco. I took this at the base of Coit Tower. It's part of one of the lens things you can look out for 25cents. I really like the fact that Alcatraz is mispelled as "Alcatrax" in the descriptions of the scenic points. Also love how this image feels like it could have been taken 40 years ago and it still shows the things people love to come to San Francisco to see.
